Multi-display Navigation Analysis of Radiologist Desktop User Interface

As a UXer at UPMC Enterprises + GE Healthcare (NGI: Next Generation Imaging team), I was tasked with conducting a comprehensive eye-tracking study on an underdevelopment GE Healthcare Imaging Product (Centricity System) with the goal of improving patient safety and enhancing the radiologists’ experience. By working closely with Radiology Specialist MDs, representing a diverse range of specialties including abdomen, nuclear medicine, musculoskeletal, and Neuroradiology, I was able to gain a deep understanding of the challenges and pain points radiologists face when using imaging software and EMR.

Using cutting-edge eye-tracking technology, I carefully monitored and analyzed the actions and behaviors of the participating radiologists as they completed a series of assigned tasks. The data collected was then subject to a rigorous statistical analysis, allowing me to identify key areas for improvement and make practical recommendations for redesign. By addressing critical usability issues that could lead to diagnostic errors and making the Centricity System more user-friendly and efficient, I helped to improve the overall experience of radiologists and enabled them to provide better care to their patients.
